Welcome to the page of the Department of Law dedicated to international students.
Here you will find all the useful information if you are a foreign student interested in studying in Pisa for a certain period of time.
The Department offers various opportunities both for those taking part in exchange programs (such as Erasmus) and for those who wish to study independently.
- Visa and residency permit: Compulsory steps if you are an incoming Non-EU Erasmus student
- Entry and residency rights for EU citizens
- Cost of living: although living in Pisa can be quite inexpensive, please do keep in mind that the cost of living is greater than the regular monthly stipend received by the Erasmus programme
- Health insurance: learn how the health system works in Italy and what steps you need to follow before departure
- Accommodation: find a few links to get you started with your apartment search
Opening a Bank account: find out if your bank at home has a branch in Italy or any agreements with an Italian bank in Pisa
- It is a personal alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies the subjects within the Italian State, as far as tax and administrative matters are concerned.
- The tax code is one of the required documents to get the Residence Permit (Permesso di Soggiorno), to rent a room and open a bank account. Please note that the temporary tax code issued upon your registration on Alice web portal (the University of Pisa registration web portal) or Universitaly web portal is not considered as valid.
You can apply for a tax code only after arriving in Italy. Please follow the steps written in this page
